iPhone 6 Plus costs just $15.50 more to build over iPhone 6

Yesterday, a teardown analysis of the iPhone 6 revealed that it costs Apple somewhere in the $200 range to build the smartphone based on parts and labor alone. Taking a closer look at the numbers, research firm IHS claims that it costs Apple a mere $15.50 extra to build an iPhone 6 Plus compared to the iPhone 6, despite charging a $100 premium for the larger smartphone in all three storage capacities.
