Hello. Before 5 dvds burned, I still dont found the correct one. How could I know which bootloader is indicated to my laptop? And the OS install dvd,...

  1. i had no luck with the retail disc but i instead used iAtkos L2. make sure your bios is 209 because this didnt work for me in 207. update it with the winflash that should come on the applications cd for your computer (for windows) but if not can be easily acquired. make sure your harddrive still has windows in it for the last steps. -
    1. on another mac, i partitioned a 32gig usb drive to 27/5 (ish). restored the iAtkos dmg to the smaller one, made the bigger one extended (journaled) format.
    2. still on that mac i booted from start up holding control and then went into the installer for iAtkos, and installed it on the bigger partition of the usb.
    3. got another usb, download the program 'carbon copy cloner' for mac. save for later. also, get the latest nvidia driver pack for macs. it's on their site somewhere. i have a gt 240m so i assume you do. also, join tonymacx86 and download multibeast for lion, and i think rBoot LE is there too. also, google n61vn dsdt and download what you find. it was easy to locate for me but it only worked for bios version 209. save all that for later on the secondary usb.
    5. install that stuff on the usb installation of osx from the mac. in multibeast, select the atheros internet kext, any singular voodoo sound kext (because im not sure which work so let's experiment), the kext for the keyboard/touchpad, install chameleon, your dsdt (google it, just put it on the desktop) and the essential stuff like fakesmc. they're all in the same section pretty much. also, install the latest nvidia driver that it supports for. i dont know if its essential but it seemed to help me.
    5. i burned the rBoot LE iso to a cd in disk utility on the other mac
    6. set n61vn bios to boot from disc
    7. booted into rBoot LE
    8. selected the bootable partition of the usb where i installed osx from the mac.
    9. load. you need a mouse and your keyboard probably wont work very well the first time. even now it always tells me there is none connected at start up, but it actually does work. i'm still working on this, only started tonight.
    10. open carbon copy cloner, clone usb to your hard drive. shut down afterwards.
    11. boot into rBoot LE, then boot into the new installation. boot verbose because it looks interesting and if it doesnt work then you'll know what's up. if nothing works you can try safemode which is -x or google for other flags.
    12. you should be in the new installation. mine runs pretty well. if the screen is not at full resolution (1366x768), then try reinstalling the nvidia drivers/kexts. otherwise, im not sure. my trackpad refused to work at all and my screen would only go to 1280x720 until i used carbon copy cloner to put the system on my actual harddrive. the first time i booted it was normal and i got kernel panic, but ive booted 3 time since in verbose and been fine for some reason. anyways, best of luck. im still trying to get my sound and internet working. the dsdt is a major part of it. ive tried many different ways of installation and none of the non-dsdt ways worked for me, and the ones that did only worked for bios 209. just thought i'd emphasise that.
anyway, sorry for the noob-help; i am something of a noob.
